Paul Wolffram Talk: Performing change through collaborative video making

INAWARA Seminar

20 March, 2025

We are really excited to share our video of the first seminar of the year, featuring Associate Professor Paul Wolffram from the Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. A man of many talents ranging across film, literature, music, documentary making, ethnographic work and more, he shares his insights into what it takes to perform change through collaborative video making.

In this seminar, he discusses his experiences of making short videos produced in collaboration with community groups in Goroka, Eastern Highlands in Papua New Guinea. He explains the importance of embracing the potential of creative documentary as a means for engaging deeply and meaningfully with worldviews and narratives that take us beyond a Western frame of reference.
