Dr Sudesh Ghoderao

Dr. Sudesh Ghoderao is a Professor of Chemistry at the Dept of Chemistry, R.N.C. Arts, J.D.B. Commerce and N.S.C. Science College, Nashik, Maharashtra, India. He is voluntarily associated with social organizations like 1) Maharashtra Andhshraddha Nirmulan Samiti (MANS) (Committee for eradication of superstitions and development of scientific temper) currently as Secretary of National and International Coordination Dept and has actively participated in it for 35 years and 2) Federation of Indian Rationalist Associations (FIRA) currently as National General Secretary and associated with FIRA for more than 20 years to date.

He has actively guided and communicated expert information on behalf of Maharashtra Andhshraddha Nirmulan Samiti (MANS) to sanction 1) the bill – ‘The Prevention and Prohibition of Human Sacrifice and Harmful Practices Bill 2018’ in Uganda, Africa in collaboration with Uganda Parliamentary Forum for Children (UPFC) and 2) UN resolution on the ‘Elimination of harmful practices related to accusations of witchcraft and ritual attacks’ in collaboration with Witchcraft and Human Rights Information Network (WHRIN) in collaboration with United Nations Human Right Council (UNHRC). He is a recipient of international award ‘Distinguished Service to Humanism 2020’ of Humanists International.

He is a mentor of the INSPIRE program of the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India (GOI). He is an approved speaker of the Extra Mural Study Centre of Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), Pune and has delivered more than 500 lectures at various places on the topics of (a) Eradication of superstitions and development of scientific temper and (b) The Maharashtra Prevention and Eradication of Human Sacrifice and other Inhuman, Evil, and Aghori Practices and Black Magic Act, 2013.

He is also Member of Board of Studies in Chemistry of Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune and Executive Member of Association of Chemistry Teachers (ACT), INDIA. He is an author of a book titled ‘Chemistry Education and Miracles’ published by INSC International Publishers (IIP).
