An online workshop hosted by The International Network Against Witchcraft Accusations and Ritual Attacks (INAWA) and the Disability Inclusion Africa Network
We welcome Professor Nora Groce (UCL) and Dr Elvis Imafidon (SOAS), who will speak about the impact of witchcraft beliefs on persons with disabilities.
Professor Nora Groce is a medical anthropologist, and works on issues of global health, international development and human rights, with particular focus on global disability issues. She is Director of the UCL International Disability Research Centre at University College London. Her research over the years has concentrated on vulnerable groups, with attention to the interface between persons with disability and access to adequate health care and inclusion in international development programs.
Dr Elvis Imafidon is a Reader in African Philosophy at SOAS University of London. His research interests include the philosophical discourses of difference, disability, corporeality and healthcare primarily from African perspectives. He is author and editor of several essays and books including African Philosophy and the Otherness of Albinism (2019) and Handbook of African Philosophy (2023).
